  Obesity-related Diseases Obesity is a condition of having excess body weight beyond the normal range, usually measured by body mass index (BMI). BMI is the weight (kg) divided by the square of the height (m). According to the World Health Organization’s standards, BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is normal, 25 to 29.9 is overweight, and above 30 is obese.
